Time flies when you are… |
·….Having fun but apparently also when you are
· Learning more and more every day
· Working hard for a project & its beneficiaries :
· Making high quality grass grow to feed Vietnamese cows
· Measuring cows in Niger to measure the impact of “genetical improvement”
· Collecting data on poverty alleviation in Mozambique for a donor working group
· Publishing a local gazette on development issues in Lubumbashi
· Working against the spectacular erosion in Mbuji-Maji
· ……
· Trying to make yourself comprehensible in a foreign language
· Trying to understand certain cultural differences
. Trying to be taken seriously as a female volunteer
· Integrating in a society where everything goes much slower
Yes, even then… Time flies!
Already one year flew by since volunteers from group 2 signed their contract and participated in the three week training course before departure!
Soon after they all flew out to different countries in different continents, with different challenges ahead.
One year later, 16 of them discussed these challenges and exchanged experiences throughout a collective debriefing session held in Brussels.
16 volunteers, 11 countries, 7 program topics, 5 VSDC–teammembers… but only one day!
Time flies!
Some impressions of the day to remember.
